Carpenter's Guild is a building type in Pharaoh.
General Information[]
The Carpenter's Guild is a requirement for many of the game's monuments. It sends a carpenter to build ramps and scaffolding, which allows bricklayer's and stonemasons to work on their monuments.
Carpenters are somewhat different from the other two types of guilds in that they require a supply of wood to function. The guild can store up to two hundred units of wood each. For every 100 units of wood, the guild sends out a carpenter to construct a ramp on whatever monument is being built. As each level of most monuments require much time and resources to complete, only one carpenter's guild is necessary for smooth progress in erecting a monument.
Although more carpenters may be built (particularly for construction of multiple monuments at once), the AI of Pharaoh sometimes causes multiple carpenters to go to the same spot at the same time for just one job (without any benefits), wasting wood.
