The Work Camp is a building type in Pharaoh.
General Information[]
Work camps train peasants to operate floodplain farms. In addition, peasants also clear sites for monuments, and drag various building materials to monuments. They also lay the tiles on mausoleums. Work camps require very high numbers of workers to keep running, making building them an easy way to combat unemployment.
Each work camp generates up to four workers per month. This means that, nominally speaking at least, each work camp can support up to four farms.
Whenever a monument or a farm needs labor, a random work camp in the city spawns a peasant who starts making his way to the site. This can be a problem as peasants can spawn very far away from a farm, reducing the output of the farm due to the time it ends up staying un-tilled.
Work camps are highly undesirable to live close to.
